To grow a plum tree from plum pits, start by removing the pits from ripe plums and washing off any remaining fruit. Then, place the pits in a plastic bag with some moist peat moss and store them in the refrigerator for 8-12 weeks to simulate winter conditions. After the chilling period, plant the pits in a well-draining soil mix and keep them consistently moist. With proper care and patience, the pits should germinate and grow into plum trees over time. Keep in mind that it may take several years for the trees to produce fruit. **

However, some artists may still be considered freelance if they are creating prints on a commission basis or maintaining creative control over the reproduction process.
