Old movies flicker during editing because they were shot on film, which consists of individual frames that are played back at a certain speed to create the illusion of motion. When these frames are being edited, the film passes through a projector or editing machine at a consistent speed, but due to wear and tear on the film or the equipment, the frames may not always be perfectly aligned, causing flickering. Additionally, the flickering effect can also be a result of the frame rate of the film not matching the playback speed of the editing equipment. **

Old films flicker during editing because they were shot on film stock, which consists of individual frames captured on celluloid. When these frames are played back rapidly, the flickering effect occurs due to the slight variations in exposure and lighting between each frame. During editing, when individual frames are cut and rearranged, this can also contribute to the flickering effect as the transitions between frames may not always be seamless. Additionally, the age and condition of the film stock itself can also impact the flickering during editing. **

When a PC hangs during video editing, it could be due to several reasons. It may be struggling to process the large video files, or it could be running out of memory or processing power. It's also possible that the software being used for video editing is not optimized for the PC's hardware. To troubleshoot this issue, it's recommended to check the system's resources, close any unnecessary programs running in the background, and consider upgrading the hardware if necessary. Additionally, using a different video editing software may also help improve performance. **
