In general, patent law does not protect self-created art inspired by industrial parts if it is intended for commercial distribution. Patents are typically granted for inventions that are novel, non-obvious, and useful, rather than artistic creations. However, if the art incorporates a new and useful functionality or design aspect that meets the criteria for patent protection, it may be eligible for a design patent. It is advisable to consult with a patent attorney to determine the best form of intellectual property protection for the specific art piece. **

In general, patent law does not protect self-created art inspired by industrial parts intended for commercial distribution. Patents are typically granted for inventions that are new, useful, and non-obvious, and are directed to processes, machines, manufactures, or compositions of matter. Artistic creations, even if inspired by industrial parts, are more likely to be protected by copyright law, which covers original works of authorship fixed in a tangible medium of expression. However, if the art includes functional elements that are novel and non-obvious, it may be eligible for a design patent, which protects the ornamental design of a functional item. It is important to consult with a qualified intellectual property attorney to determine the best form of protection for your specific creation. **
